A win/win gift list.

Senior photoshoot with girls loading truck with holiday gifts

Oops! I woke up yesterday morning, realized it was Thursday and completely forgot to post this blog. ‘Tis the season! Being that it’s December 1st maybe it was serendipity that I’m a day late. Whether I want to face it or not, it’s gifting season. At this time of year I usually post gift suggestions recommended by my Senior Model Reps. This year I’m changing it up a little bit. I’ve listed some of my favorite picks for gifts that I know will appeal to your girls AND the purchase will support efforts against Human Trafficking or help empower women. I have nieces and a daughter in that age range so I’m checking off my list pretty quickly. I love the idea of a gift that’s win:win. I hope you find a few things your favorite teen will love. Stay sane and breathe!

What comes from inspiration. Part 2.

To do what you love with the ones that you love is a gift. And for that reason alone this particular teen photoshoot will be one of my forever favorites; it included my daughter. I posted this video that my assistant, Casey, created a few weeks ago. Below are a few of my favorite images from that photoshoot.

Spring weather actually seems to be on it’s way! My shooting schedule is filling up. Make sure you call soon if you’re interested in a photoshoot before summer.

The power of a print

There is nothing more powerful than seeing yourself in prints.  It’s a tactile memory, a legacy item, one of the few treasures in life that increases in value with age. My house is filled with prints of my children and family. Do you know who I can always count on to stop and really take a minute to look at them, then comment? My kids friends. They did it when they were young and are still stopping to look now that they’re in their teens.  Something to think about the next time you think your iphone photos are enough.

“I’ve got a big problem with laughing”

That’s it. That’s all I needed to hear and I was so excited. We were going to have a great time together!

Pam (Jade’s mom) had called me just before Jade’s 13th birthday and told me this photoshoot was her absolute dream birthday gift, “Do you photograph teens?” she asked. Yes! I photograph teen girls. I think 13 is one of those milestone birthdays that absolutely, positively needs to be captured. I photographed my daughter at that age and cannot believe the changes she has gone through over the past year and a half. Those photos mean the world to me.

Not only does Jade love to laugh but she is quite literally bottled sunshine. Honestly, she glows, giggles, smiles and is pure joy to photograph. If I could bottle her I would. Take a look…
