I know I’ve mentioned before how much I love photoshoots with sisters. This one with twins Catie and Lauren was no different. We had originally scheduled this for the winter but ended up rescheduling it to one of those unusual days in early spring when the weather was actually cooperating and it felt like early summer.
It sounds odd but there is almost a rhythm that twins/triplets have with each other. It’s not something I can place my finger on but it’s a give and take that is almost rhythmical. I experienced it with Bri and Johnna last year also. I find it fascinating. There’s a comfort level between them that makes the entire shoot extremely calm.
Wistfully, their mom had said they had their portraits when they were babies and now as seniors before they’re off to college this coming fall to 2 different schools.
All it took was a few American flags, a wide open field and a sun-kissed summer evening to get our photoshoot underway. From all of “my” freespirits to yours… have a happy Fourth of July!

I think if I gave you three guesses to name the sport that Becky is involved in you probably wouldn’t even come close. When I first heard her say it in casual conversation I asked her to repeat it because I thought she was kidding me. It was during hair and makeup. The music was playing and we’re (Michelle/hair and makeup artist, Taylor/my assistant, Becky and I) are chatting. It was Michelle who asked Becky if she’s involved in any sports or clubs. Ready for a guess?…It’s not gymnastics, soccer or volleyball. It also is not track, swimming or skiing. RUGBY!! Yes, rugby. I don’t know a whole lot about rugby but I didn’t even think girls played that sport! Becky is a beautiful blonde with a huge personality. She’s excited for everything and anything. Really. I could tell her we’re going to sit in the mud and she would say I’m sooooo excited! So maybe that’s the personality of a rugby player, I don’t know, but I’ll take it any day of the week.
My fall calendar is open and September is almost full. Get in touch to book a photoshoot.
Wishing these girls nothing but the best…a life full of adventures, laughter and happiness. Stay in touch. xoxo, Paige
Now is the time to book your senior photoshoot class of 2018 girls! Get in touch and let’s talk.
We have a tradition in our family of sharing 4 happy things at the end of the day. We go around in our little circle of 4 and talk about the good things that happened during the day. In that spirit, after seeing these images I want to share my 3 happy things from last week. These are the last couple of photographs from the last senior photoshoot of last week.
- Having an assistant, Taylor (left) who loves photography as much as I do and absorbs every single thing I say.
- Working with senior girls like Dezi (center) who are fun, quirky and make me laugh. They remind me every single day how much I love working with this age.
- For being able to share my passion with my daughter (right) and to show her how it is possible to make work play.
What are your happy things for the day?
There’s the phrase a ray of sunshine, well Victoria is far more than that. A ray is far too underwhelming. I’d say a bucket full of sunshine is more accurate to describe her. Anything I asked she’d respond in this sing-songy way, Okaaaay.
At the beginning of a photoshoot it sometimes takes a few minutes for the girls to warm up and get relaxed in front of the camera. Not this one! It may be because of her theatre background but I’m more inclined to think it’s ingrained in her DNA. That’s just who she is, easy, breezy, happy and so much fun to be around. She’s off to USC this fall and I can assure her future room mate that she’s hit the lottery with Victoria!
I love, love, love this image directly above! It’s so rare to capture a teen girl like this and for it to be exactly who she is. Keep on shining Victoria! To see Victoria’s close friends’ also had photoshoots with me take a look here and here.
