HOW I MET MY CLOSEST FRIENDS: Orientation and in the beginning everyone was super open to meeting new people! Tulane also has a riverboat cruise that I met some of my current best friends because we were the only ones who actually danced on the dance floor!
DORM ADVICE: Be friendly with your floor, y’all are living together all year. It’s nice to have friends in your building! Get a comfy rug bc rooms are so small, seating is very limited, everyone ends up lying around on the beds and ground when hanging out.
DORM, GREEK, OTHER: The Boot is most popular (and 18+) and Greek.
A TYPICAL WEEKEND IS: Going to the Fly Park (on the Mississippi River); tailgates during football season; nights at the boot or frat parties (sororities also have a lot of mixers and date parties); Sundays dedicated to the library.
CLUBS: I’m in Chi Omega sorority, Delta Sigma Pi (business frat) and do a lot of volunteering because Tulane has a huge emphasis on community service my favorite was at an animal shelter.
MOST FUN CAMPUS TRADITION: Mardi Gras
FAVORITE DISCOVERY ON/OFF CAMPUS: Hillel has great food on campus and off campus just the entire city of New Orleans is amazing but love the Fly and Magazine Street.
STUDY TIP: As soon as you get your syllabus fill out everything in a planner.
SECRET STUDY SPOT: I’m a library kind of girl but also some really cool coffee shops near campus, Rue de la Course is my favorite. Pro tip during finals…when Howie Tulane Library is packed, Loyola’s is always way less full and we have access to it.
MOST RECENT GOOGLE SEARCH: Zulu (Mardi Gras parade)
MOST USED APP: Instagram
HOMESICKNESS: Super easy to keep in touch – FaceTime and phone calls.
